5 Best Family-Friendly Neighborhoods in Montana

June 3rd, 2011

There are several family friendly neighborhoods in Montana. The top five are East Glacier Park, Hilger, Niarada, Decker, and Gardiner. East Glacier Park is a very beautiful part of Montana. That is because it is within Blackfeet Indian Reservation so it inheres the culture of the people. It has some of the rugged peaks that are carved out by glaciers and slopes. Hilger is in the center of Montana. There are no major corporations in this town. Their major building is the local post office. It is known for its mining camp in 1913. Niarada is a small community of people that is mostly white based. It is just west of Flathead Lake. It is located on the Flathead Indian Reservation along the Sullivan Creek which was established in 1855. There are four different types of Indians that live here. They are the Flathead, Kootenai, Kalispell, and the Pend d’Oreille Indians. Decker is located on the Tongue River. The backdrop of Decker is the Big Horn Mountains. The Tongue River creates cliffs, hills, buttes and bluffs along the river. Gardiner is the only year round entrance into the Yellowstone National Park. It is in between the Absaroka and the Beartooth Wilderness. It is known for the elk that run around the town all the time.
